Waioneke is a small rural school surrounded by farms, native bush, and is situated on a hill overlooking the Mighty Kaipara. Our students and their whanau have a strong connection with their local environment. They spend their weekends and holidays fishing, swimming, hunting, exploring and helping to preserve the natural environment and its inhabitants. We are excited and fully supportive of this project. It gives our students the opportunity to artistically express their understanding of the importance of protecting and restoring the mauri (life-force) of our ocean.
