Auckland War Memorial Museum is regarded as one of the finest museums in the Southern Hemisphere and is renowned for its unique collections of Māori and Pacific taonga.
Auckland Museum is New Zealand’s oldest research institution, actively contributing to greater societal and environmental understanding.
Environment-focused research currently underway includes Te Mana o Rangitāhua, an MBIE Endeavour Funded five-year research programme led by Ngāti Kuri, and The Noises Marine Restoration Project in partnership with The Noises Trust and the University of Auckland. This research will better equip Aotearoa’s response to pressing issues of climate change and ocean health.
New Natural Environment and Human Impact galleries are under development at Auckland Museum. These galleries will play an important part in inspiring those who live here and visitors to our city about how to look after our moana and marine life.
Auckland Museum is proud to support the incredible work of Bhakti Patel and Annika Andressen.
